Data Safety

Last updated: February 2026

Overview

This page mirrors the Data Safety information Free AI Storage discloses on its Google Play Store listing, explained in more detail than the store listing allows.

Collected vs. shared

Collected means data the app processes, even briefly. Shared means data transmitted to a third party such as Google AdMob. Free AI Storage collects file metadata (never file contents) on-device, and shares only the advertising identifier with AdMob for ad delivery.

Permission-by-permission breakdown

PermissionData typeLeaves device?
READ_MEDIA_IMAGESPhotosNo
READ_MEDIA_VIDEOVideosNo
READ_MEDIA_AUDIOAudio filesNo
READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTEDSelected photos/videos (partial access)No
AD_IDAdvertising identifierYes — to Google AdMob
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEConnectivity statusNo

Security practices

Because file scanning is on-device, there is no server-side database of your files to secure or breach. Diagnostic data that is collected is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in aggregated, non-identifying form.
